Although it had rained for 3 days solid it was decided to defy the weather and proceed with my birthday treat of boating on the canal. Waterproofs on, fizzy in the bag and a British sense of carry on regardless.
Best decision. The sun snuck out for 23 seconds before the heavens opened again but I had a blast.
The rowing was much more effective after a half bottle of fizz. Or at least that was my impression.
