Tree stump nest

I do hope this nesting spot proves to be a good idea . This is the female paradise shelduck and unusually in ducks the female is more striking than the male in this case. They are found widely in NZ and pairs stay together for life . This pair have certainly been around for a number of years but this is the first time they have opted for a tree stump site, could be quite a job keeping 3 dogs from discovering her, fingers crossed!
