Smudge on a post

I was out at the roadside this afternoon, and Smudge followed me.  He jumped up onto the fence post, and sat there surveying the world going by.

I spoke to a lady from the Kea Conservation Trust today about all the Kea that we have in our area.  She was really excited that we have approximately 13 of them flying around, especially when they are becoming extinct.  She is coming out to visit them on Monday, and is bringing with her a transmitter, as some of the Kea may be carrying transmitters on them so they can keep track of them.  It will be interesting to hear what she has to say.  It's great seeing the birds fly over us in the early morning and late afternoon. I'm hoping that they will stay around our area - that's if they behave themselves and don't start visiting the house or destroying things that they shouldn't!
