Farewell Old Girl
As a family we have been dreading today having put it off since we came back from holiday.
Amy has been with us for around five years, already an old girl when she came to us she was around fifteen years old this year. After screening and a 'home visit' the Greyhound Trust places the Greyhounds with families applying, Joshua chose Amy because she was 'camouflaged' colours. Amy settled in and got on well with Gussie the Jack Russell and grew to be loved by us all despite always standing in the doorway through which you were trying to pass.
Sunday mornings she knew it was Joshua's rugby day and would wait patiently for her share of Joshua's pre match bacon butties. Sadly as time passed Amy got more frail but remained alert until recent weeks when she declined more markedly.
Joshua looked up Amy under her racing name and found that she was a very successful racer and came from a successful family of racing Greyhounds.
Amy ended her days with us as one of our two family dogs, loved and cared for and we will remember her fondly.
Farewell old girl, we will miss you.
