A day out!

I got the train to London to meet up with Alison, Max & Annie to enjoy one of the last days of the school holidays.

We took the tube to Westminster Pier to catch a boat trip to Greenwich. It was a new experience for all of us and great fun. The commentary was amusing and informative, so the 80 minute trip went quickly. We saw the museums at Greenwich, but the main event of the afternoon was a session at the Planetarium. Max (aged 7) is fascinated with space and the planets. He amazed all of us by answering the questions posed to the audience by the astronomer. A clever little boy!!

Pizza for tea, before a trip back to the railway station on the Docklands Light Railway. The kids were interested to see the view from the air down on to the old docklands. I managed to get the train at Kings X by the skin of my teeth, having run up the escalator and across the platform at the station.

I was amazed at the stamina of the kids, bags of energy to run round Greenwich Park. I was exhausted by the end of the trip and was in bed by 10pm, early for me.

A day out in London is as easy from Lincolnshire as it was from Essex. There will be many more of them.
