Who, Me?

You think a sweet little bunny like me, all big brown eyes and soft tawny fur, would ever do anything to damage your lovely front garden, the one you've sunk a fair chunk of change and considerable sweat equity into?

Oh, no - I just like to sit here quietly and contemplate all the beauty before me, and perhaps nibble on a weed or two, if they're brave enough to push up through that pebble bark.

It must have been those other rabbits you saw this morning that did this to your barberry bushes. Even those sharp thorns didn't stop them! Although I have to admit that those tender, dark-pink new shoots are very appealing...

Shouldn't you be in the house, catching up on blip comments, instead of standing out here, casting aspersions on innocent rabbits?
