On Calton Hill

The OH had a day off today, so we headed up to Crail to put some plants in the garden and then have a quick lunch at The Ship Inn, Elie, on the way back.

Evening meant the last fireworks of the summer season at the end of the Edinburgh International Festival.  Instead of spending all my time looking through a lens, I decided to head out without a camera.  We chose a spot on Calton Hill and arrived as the last light of the day was disappearing.

With a big zoom lens this place might have worked, and the fireworks are good - but somehow it just wasn't the right place to be.  Enjoyed the view from Inverleith last year, and can remember the night of watching the fireworks from the Sick Kids Hospital vividly.
