Celebrating 100 years of Flying In Filey
June 2011 this 1/16th replica of the. Mercury monoplane was erected in Filey, North Yorkshire to celebrate the first flight 100 years ago by pioneer of early flight, Robert Blackburn.
The first flight was from Filey to Scarborough and return and took around 10 mins at an average air speed of 50mph.
