Ballet of noble stairs

Twelve marble steps support urned balustrades. A tree-lined  city sidewalk receeds. Haze silvers distance, blurs the boughs. So artfully arranged,
Bougainvillea petals fall. One petal here, one there ... across the chipped and nobel stairs. Blue shutters cast shadows on the lion's back. Still, immobile and unheard this porch releases music like recall.
