coffee bag

today's learning moment :0)  

Littleman was making coffee this morning and told me that if you don't have a coffee maker you can put coffee in a filter, tie it up with a rubber band and dunk it - like a tea bag.  So we tried it.  We discovered that is got a bit hot so we used a close peg to hold the top :0)  But it worked great...(thanks to you..tube for 'the coffee bag')

Lm had pulled out his army dishes yesterday - hence the little metal coffee cup :0)  And insisted on cooking me something for lunch in this metal pan - fried egg courtesy of littleman's army pan in the extras.
He sat at the table and figured out all the ways each piece could be used..."this could be a bowl, or a lid for the pan"...then he decided to wash them all before he used them (probably a good idea) and he tested each one to see if it would sink or float as he put them in the sink, talking to himself the whole time about why something could or couldn't float.  
Once they were all washed and dried he made his 'coffee bag' and told me how the coffee swelled up when it went in the water, and got heavier.  Then he cooked me a fried egg for my lunch - and told me I would have to wash the pan because he'd already done the dishes today :0)

At this time of year people always ask me if we've "started back at school"  ...I laugh and tell them we're Always learning...
