Pointes

After a lovely afternoon with friends I took Eldest to have her first pointe shoes fitted. Her feet were measured for width, assessed for strength and big toes bound for support before we got anywhere near the shoes. She tried on several different sizes, widths and makes to narrow down the most suitable for her feet.  We were told she has very strong feet and goes on to full pointe quite naturally and easily. She has a narrow heel though and a tendency to go over full pointe so has a firmer Russian shoe which comes higher up the heel at the back which isn't normally a first pointe shoe. She is very pleased with them.
