technology is strictly for those who appreciate it

Okay, so like She purchased for me - as a sort of "makeup" anniversary gift, as the transatlantic voyage wasn't Cary Grant (or Sidney Poiter if you must) and Deborah Kerr (if you're sticking to the movie) a new camera "the latest and the greatest Nikon product"

whatever, I thought and me being a Nikon man! Must admit, it's a pretty good camera the d800e, - not any better  technically, than my old d80 but still and all cool, and quite a concession She made on my behalf (don't ask`)

But, and this is way down to me, not the Nikon professionals, I just didn't/don't get the handle on changing the camera settings in regards to (probably 'cause I never even tried) the metadata (and I actually - no lie - had to goggle that to come to terms as to what it is)

so like the dates on the photos taken the past three weeks or so,  have all been referenced to the date the camera arrived in the store (or where ever) or the actual date in time it was taken - oops -

and personally, as if you wouldn't have guessed, i don't care

so until the shipping company arrives from san francisco, via boston (and the cape of good hope) in Liverpool and the storage/transport people arrive in Warwickshire (and no, we have not decided on a "permanent" location as of yet - hello Leamington Spa)

I reckon with my old and beloved nikon d300s/d3s combination, and lenses (glass to you snobs) i'll have to survive which I confess I'm not very good at disguising my happiness.

Moving on . . . .

I spent time in and about the cathedral in Coventry yesterday and at the University (primarily)

- might actually come out of 'retirement' and "lecture" there next term - the Cathedral is a really dynamite place - and conceived of by a Scotsman - if in the area, you should drop by
