Geordie's Wood

(the back-blips continue)

Our Wednesday walk with Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Ramblers took us into Clackmannanshire and to Pool of Muckhart in particular. Leaving the cars there, we walked into and around Geordie's Wood, part of the wider area known as the Glen Devon Woodland.

The weather was excellent, as were the walking conditions. A wee bit squelchy underfoot in places, but nothing to get excited about. It was a slightly shorter walk than usual for a Wednesday (only about 10-11km) but that was made up for by the up-and-down nature of route. Some of the group incorporated an ascent of Seamab towards the end of the walk, while the rest of us made our way back to Pool of Muckhart around the side of the hill. This photo was taken at this point in our walk.

The river ahead of us is the River Devon, while the water of Loch Leven, near Kinross can be seen in the distance. The hill in the distance on the left is West Lomond, while the houses at the right-hand edge of the photo are part of the village of Yetts o' Muckhart.

A grand day out!
