3500 Miles - Almost Worn In
The EAI cog on my Fixie Inc Peacemaker. On a geared bike this shark-finning would be causing a few problems with skipping and ghost-changes, but I've seen people running fixed wheel bikes with a couple of the teeth missing, let alone a little rounded off, so there's plenty of life in this yet.
The rugby this evening was truly underwhelming (much like the odd appearance of a chinook at the end of the minute's silence before the match). Little things jar, like the lights all going down beforehand to create 'atmosphere' and the Kiwis having to run out in the pitch black to no fanfare, before Scotland arrived to fire displays and thumping bagpipes (do you thump a bagpipe?).
Scotland had their usual huff and puff without any end product. New Zealand were disappointing, but still ran out 32-6 winners in a frankly dull match. Hell, the highlight was Chris Hoy turning up with the match ball. The people behind didn't help. Typical middle-class partisan group who thoughtthey were terribly funny, knew all about rugby, and didn't like the fact a tannoy announcement asked people not to boo opposing penalty attempts (somehow Scotland holds onto this idea that the fans are sportsmanlike and honest, they are particularly rose tinted specs these days).
Still, it'll be our turn at the end of the month...
