Mysteries
We were both very tired this morning. I think it was mainly due to the window fitting rather than yesterday's partying. We had a slow start.
Mum thanks you all for your good wishes and kind comments from yesterday. (She received 46 cards too.)
I went to do some photography for my neighbour Ian. He buys and sells very old bedroom furniture. He wanted me to capture the tiny writing on the wood of an 18th century four poster. Why did the cabinet makers write on the wood with ink and in letters that are only about 1mm high?
I can't find any information on the web. Nor can I find the best way to show the lettering. It's almost impossible to see. I did wonder if it was a case of the emperor's new clothes for a while....... I've tried infra red processing, posterising and more. I wonder if we really need a UV light source. Watch this space. I don't want to give up!
When I was photographing a vertical piece of wood I noticed the furniture on the far wall, so changed my point of focus to take today's blip.
