Canape Marathon

Well, the annual junior dinner at City of Oxford Rowing Club is our last event with our dear friends there now that Tom has moved on. I had volunteered to organise it some months back before we know he'd be leaving. One particular task I rather enjoy is menu planning and overseeing is the creation of 600 canapes. I had a lovely team of teenage girls to help fill the vol-au-vent and pastry cases and make the cocktail sticks. Once we'd filled 10 trays they looked gorgeous and as people arrived Tom and his friends in their DJs served them champagne whilst we handed round the canapes before a buffet dinner, awesome speeches, and not too much cleaning up. A great night and a proper goodbye.
