Alice and The Italian Princess

You never know what you will find when you walk into a studio during Perthshire Open Studios.
 
Certainly I was not expecting to discover an artist,
Jessie Carr (see extra photo) based in the Highland village of Comrie doing work for an Italian princess.
 
But she had been commissioned to do the themed party for the princess’ 9-year-old daughter- with the child cast as Alice.
 
Well, this certainly takes children’s birthday parties to a whole new level…
Oh yes and the goody bag for each child was an Alice in Wonderland hatbox.
 
The party in Italy was a huge affair taking place in a marquee decorated with images from Alice in Wonderland.
 
I did not dare ask how much this bespoke childrens birthday party cost though Jessie did say that even in this world of the super rich it was “a lot of money”.
 
Jessie, a graduate of St Martins College in London with twelve years experience working in film, advertising and theatre, is now married to a gamekeeper on a Scottish estate.
