Cheers!

Well last night didn't quite go to plan.

We had a walk to the Empire State Building, then went for food. The plan was to then get the subway and go down to the Brooklyn Bridge.
However, by this time I was starting to flag, bearing in mind we'd been up and at 'em for the best part of 22 hours.

Neither of us could fathom the automatic ticket machines and I was just getting stressy so we called it a day and went back to the hotel.

Thankfully, we both had a good nights sleep, which made us feel better for today's trip to Boston.

It's been hot, and the air con on the coach is set to 23C which seems a bit on the high side even to me who's always cold!.

Lunch was at the Quincy Market; I had a bowl of clam chowder, though the locals here call it chowda as they don't enunciate their R's (so, they drive cahs, drink in bahs...etc). It was delicious!

We had a walking tour of Boston, following part of the Freedom Trail; I had a bit of history overload and switched off after a while. We did however manage to see the grave of Samuel Adams; of Boston Lager fame (and a huge, prominent political philosopher and one of the founding fathers of the U.S.) and also the famous 'Cheers' bar from the 80's TV show.
It is a bar and restaurant, but only the facade of the building was used for external shots for the show, the actual bar was a TV studio.
This was the main thing I knew about Boston (other than the massacre), so we had planned to go and see it tonight, but as luck would have it, we passed right by on the walking tour.

We got to the hotel about 4.30pm and straight away I could smell chlorine; YES! They had a spa!!!! Selfish I know, but we didn't let on to anyone else so ended up with the pool and jacuzzi to ourselves. Bliss.

Tonight, we are braving public transport now we are more awake and heading back into the city, though I suspect we will have another earlyish night as we have an early start tomorrow (breakfast at 6.30, leave at 7.30) due to us having to cross border patrol into Canada.
