Working in the garden is an enjoyable and relaxing pastime. It also gives a lot of garden waste. We throw that in a special composting ton in the back of the garden. Over time you can get fertile garden soil out of it through a slide in the bottom of the barrel.

It's also an interesting place to make macro photos there. The disadvantage is that the decay process is not showing pleasantly and there's a terrible stench inside the tank.

Today I tried to make a picture anyway of one of the insects that you find in the tub. You put a mask for mouth and nose. You open the lid and and look for a suitable object. When found you bend over with the camera in the bucket, frame the object, focus, shoot and close the lid asap ...

The rotten background gave the whole image an distasteful appearance in full color. So I desaturated the scene and created finally a monochrome image ... ;)
