More Vintage

At The Shuttleworth Pageant, Old Warden.  A magnificent collection of vintage aircraft and vehicles being shown off and flown in a beautiful setting on a perfect day - the weather was fabulous.  We met a few friends from the Gliding Club so our small gathering turned into a party and we all sat in the sun and shared round a grand picnic.

TL.  Louis Charles Bleriot (French aviator, inventor and engineer, 1July 1872–1 August 1936).  A painting depicting his first flight in 1909 across the English Channel in a heavier than air aircraft.

TR.  A magnificent Model T Ford.

Bottom:  an early sailplane glider.  It has no cockpit and the pilot sat on a small seat located just ahead of the wing.  This one gave an awesome  display.

Only one downside to the day  .....  Fellow Blipper Nicoiseannie wasn't there.
