Antarctica...

There are some useful things in the household - like Antarctica.  At was from 1980/81.....
 This historic event, as it was the first time the expeditions had been flown into Antarctica...
Normally - it was 2 weeks at sea..
Because of the short summer in Antarctica it was most important  to  make the most from Daylight hours to go by sea meant waiting for the   sea-ice to break up -which some years did not - happen until December.
