Mono Monday - Contrast - MM84

Beautiful day here with lots of insects zooming around outside. Rik discovered this hoverfly trapped in our kitchen drain. We could hear a deep buzzing and thought it was something caught in a web. We think it's a Myathropa florea aka the Batman Hoverfly, but we're waiting for confirmation from a local facecloth group.

The original of this photo wasn't a particularly good one, but the processing has brought out many contrasts, dark and light, hairy and smooth. I added a better shot in extras so you can it see it in colour.
