Babies.
Moving sofas around today we came across mummy daddylonglegs guarding her babies underneath one of them. Some had hatched and were scuttling all over the place but most were still eggs. We were faced with a dilemma; leave them and be inundated with spiders while we're watching telly, or very gently remove them to a safe place. We chose the latter, hoovering them up being out of the question. So me and Alice spent twenty minutes scraping with the utmost delicacy hundreds of unborn creatures onto some cardboard to put in the garden. It isn't easy and we probably did more damage than good but it made us feel a bit better.
