Mowing the dogs field
Our dogs are very lucky as they have their own garden and then access to their own wee field. And because we haven't had any livestock grazing it, it was in need of a mow. Husband has been mowing all the rushes in all the fields today and his last stop was the dogs field. I did have to round up the poultry and shut them in their pen before he started. That's the mower off the tractor and in storage for another year and now we can move on to other jobs.
First thing I headed down the road to get some dog and hen food and a few supplies from the local shop. I stopped in at the farm where we manage the livestock to check on the weaned lambs and to put a bag of blackfaced wool in the back of the pick up that will go with ours to the wool marketing board. I have been washing and scrubbing our horses rugs today and then reproofing them for the best part of the day. Its getting closer to winter. Now they are clean I can see all the wee repairs I will need to do to them too. I have bought some new needles for the job and also have rot proof thread. I then gave the house a once over with the hoover.
