We were a bit undecided on where to go today but we decided to make for Framlingham even though it was a bit of a drive and have a gander at their castle as it looked pretty good. It was a bit of a ripoff as it was essentially just a wall walk and little else! None of the internal buildings survived. It was impressive though, and interesting, it was actually refurbished in the Tudor era by the Howards who own Arundel Castle near us back at home. And they installed all of these chimneys around it, many of them purely decorative! Never seen that in a castle before. We got our money's worth exploring the outside and had a bit of a walk into the village as well.
The rest of the day involved getting lunch (we found a brilliant eccentric cafe at a caravan park/holiday place!) and travelling back and forth (including getting a little lost at times - Mum's map mastery came through for us again though!)
