The Cuillin

Without question, the most serious mountain range in the UK, the Cuillin is a 12km ridge of shattered igneous rock situated on one of the wettest and most exposed islands on the west coast of Scotland. We had a few more peaks to tick here so we had lined up a day with a guide to tackle the southernmost pair. The weather was very poor the previous day and the forecast moderately better, but very unusually for Skye, it turned out far better than expected. We completed a 10 hour round, completely shattered and exhausted but happy for bagging Sgurr nan Eag (924m) and Sgurr dubh Mhor (944m).
