Hover fly (Volucella zonaria)
We went down to Victoria Tower with a packed lunch today, it was nice and sunny once we got there, but on the way it was quite dull and grey.
We managed to see a long-tailed blue, which was nice. It didn't look like anything particularly special, but I think they're rare or something.
There was an ivy bush thing, which had a ton of insects on it, including this. There were also lots of Red Admirals and Painted lady butterflies.
