Moulins in Auvergne

What a lovely day we have had. We set off on a rather misty morning through the country side heading towards the town of Auxerre. An old town with a beautiful cathedral with amazing stained glass windows dating back to the 13th century, the colours were so vibrant. Wandering around the back streets we came across many old buildings and a great painted clock from 15 century, with sun on one side and moon painted on other side of the gateway into the old town.
We travelled on to the town of Moulins in the Auvergne and are staying here the night. An interesting cathedral but not as lovely as the one in Auxerre and built considerably later! Moulins was the town of the Bourbons from whence came many of the kings and queens of France. It is also the town where Coco Channel went to school as an orphan, her name then was Gabrielle, not Coco.
The picture shows the cathedral in Moulins which was extensively rebuilt in the 19th century, it is very close to spa town of Vichy where the Vichy government was set up by the Germans during WW2. The address of the cathedral is 'Deportation Square' sadly.
