The entrance ceiling
This is the ceiling of one of the entrances to the Wool Exchange building in Bradford. Bradford’s wealth was built on wool, and the Wool Exchange reflects the city’s former prosperity. A grade 1 listed building, the exchange was built in Venetian Gothic style in the 19th Century, with an impressive hammerbeam roof with wrought ironwork decoration, while the main hall is surrounded by tall polished granite columns. No longer used for its original purpose, it is now home to Waterstones book shop, where you can browse your favourite books in comfort and style.
Many thanks to all fellow blippers who dropped by and left kind comments and stars for yesterday’s journal entry.
