Kodak Instamatic Camera

Not the actual one you understand, that's probably long gone. The camera I had when I was a youngster was a Kodak Instamatic Camera 255X or 256X. I bought this in a charity shop in Stockbridge, and more for nostalgia purposes than for any real photographic intentions.

It had very basic controls for exposure by adjusting the aperture rather than the shutter speed. But when most of my mates had even more basic cameras, it felt like I was the 'pro' having more settings.

After all, a larger aperture means you can, to a very limited extent, control depth of field. Mind you, most of my photo came back with the dreaded sticker on how you could improve this picture. But with film, the moment had long passed.
