A Difficult Christmas

*backblip

Last Christmas was a very difficult time for our family. I had to study for a very important exam I was scheduled to write in January, and in the middle of December, a family member became very sick. While everyone was enjoying the holiday season, we were under a lot of stress. The morale was pretty low.

We decided to keep our lights inside because 1) it was easier for us to enjoy them, and 2) someone took our Halloween doormat when we placed it outside in October.

I took this shot before going to bed. I sat at the dinner table and stared at the lights for awhile. I remember feeling exhausted. After another long, hard day, my mind was blank. The first few days were agonizing but we stuck together and worked hard to make things bearable.

In the end, it became a very memorable Christmas. Because the experience was so trying, it was one of the experiences that pushed me to grow the most. I am thankful that our family member recovered and that we all pulled through. Hopefully, this Christmas (in 3 and a half months) will be a happier one.
