It's a Greek Life!
After breakfast I loaded the car ready to travel back to the airport, and said goodbyes to the staff and some people who were in the next appartements to us that had arrived the day before. It turned out we had a lot in common besides the same surname. Similarly, Mark had left the Royal Marines and was in the Police, and also like me had a brother in the Police also called David. The goodbye turned out to be about 90 minutes as I chatted to him and Mrs BB spoke to his wife. It's a small world!
We needed to be at the airport by 3pm so, despite being pushed for time, we drove to Episkopi village in the mountains, a few miles from Heraklion airport and enjoyed a final taste of Crete with a Greek salad and jug of wine. The men were sat on the table next to us and obviously enjoying the lovely weather and perfectly illustrated the Greek way of life - relaxed!
The extra shows sunset minutes before landing at Manchester airport. It was a 55 minute queue to exit passport control. We still had to wait for our delayed cases off the carousel, before arriving home about midnight.
