They didn't muck about in the 17th century.....

Here's what I think about death.    There are a lot of poems around that like to talk it down - you'll hear them in crematoria several times a day.

"You have slipped away into the next room......"
"Death is nothing at all......."

Really?   It doesn't feel like that to the bereaved, I've found.   Excuse me for saying it, but death is actually a big deal!      One thing for sure is that the Christian faith supports that view.   If death isn't a big deal then resurrection is needless and  "our faith is in vain"" as Paul said.

Our forefathers and foremothers had not the slightest doubt.   Death is real and earnest, as is the Christian response to it.    

Skull and crossbones?   That says it better!
