John Downie

We have two John Downie crab apple trees in the garden and they are now dropping their brightly coloured fruit. I used to make jelly but now they have black spots on their skin which would taint the clear colour.  Usually the wasps and butterflies have a go at the windfalls but like last year, there aren't many wasps around.
