Vimto ,The Ideal Drink .

Vimto was first created in 1908 by  (John) Noel Nichols.. He marketed it as a tonic as it contained many fruits .It can be drunk cold or hot and is a great success. Originally named Vim Tonic, Nichols renamed it Vimto  in 1912. Hence to day I went to Granby Row and blipped this huge 'bottle statue monument' of a Vimto Bottle  surrounded by fruits.. On one side the railway runs by so it can be viewed and marvelled at by passengers .Plus there is some rather fine Mancunian architecture on the other side. If you have never tried Vimto ,do so, It isn't expensive so wont ruin the housekeeping. You may well be surprised at this great drink which originated here in the North .. Guess it's another case of "What Manchester Does Today .etc
