Spooky House...
Ever since we can remember, this ramshackle place on the edges of the village has fascinated us. We've never actually seen anyone there, but there's always a single light burning in the window with the cracked pane. The garden is overgrown, the gutters are blocked - but there was someone living there until fairly recently. The Ingbirchworth oracles - Ken & Arthur - say it was a mother and son, but they were never seen around the village. Presumably they are now both deceased, as the house and land around it is up for tender. We're guessing this house will be demolished, leaving room for several dwellings on the site. Watch this space... An appropriate shot for Derelict Thursday today!
Tiny Tuesday follow-up
Thanks again to everyone who took part this week - it was even more difficult to pare my choices down to the required few!
Purely by coincidence I was on track for giving “awards” to 10 different people compared to last week - but in the end I just couldn’t leave out JDO’s bee!
First, in no particular order, the hearts for five amazing creatures that leap out of the page at you:
Goateebooknerd's aviator
Freyjad's lacy wings
Kimb's Viceroy
Maura's irridescent fly
JDO's beautiful bee
I’m conscious that the hearts are all for “mini beasts” – but they really did make me go “wow”, and capturing a tiny, living, moving creature in detail like that is just awesome!
The honourable mentions are more of a mixture and I’m claiming 6 this week as I only allocated 4 last ( who’s counting? ). Again, in no particular order they are:
Old Timer's shimmery Star Flower
Flying's pussy willow
Hesscat's flower dock
Anniemay's amazingly tiny macro
…and two that, despite not being macros, are very tiny and have the aaawww factor…
FarmerGirl's cow & calf
KangaZu's tiny chipmunks
Thanks for having me as a guest host! For the rest of September it is Freyjad - and next week’s tag is TinyTuesday16. See you then...
