Sina and Adle

Sina and Adle are on holiday together. Sina is engaged to Petr but, in six months - three weeks before the wedding, Petr will run off with one of Sina's friends. Sina will get together with Arne - Petr's best friend - and they will spend the rest of their lives together. They will be healthy (although, in twenty years' time, Arne will have a cancer scare which, luckily, will turn out to be a false alarm and the only lasting effect of this will be to make them appreciate their good fortune).

Sina will work in a bakers and have five children - all of whom will survive her and they will all be at her bedside when she dies at the age of eighty-seven, painlessly.

Arne will quietly slip away three months later.

Sina's life will not be interesting, but it will be happy.

Adle's life will be much more interesting but also much less happy.
