Garrapata beach

First stop heading coastal south on Highway 1, very picturesque but got a lot bigger and grander from here on in.

The long and winding road did go on a bit, although we did spot a whale on the way - and the resident elephant seals at San Simeon.

Arriving Paso Robles the temperature was in the high 30s but being very civilised they have vineyard tastings in town :-)

A 'light' salad in a brilliant little diner followed by tasting at the Parrish family vineyard gaff, both air conditioned, resolved things nicely.
