South Africa is today basking in the global spotlight.
In what is being celebrated as the greatest scientific find in the search for human origins, it has emerged that a new species of human relative has been found.
The announcement at the Maropeng visitors' centre, was that in a remote cave chamber named Dinaledi (The Stars), the largest amount of hominin fossils in Africa had been found.
The picture on the front page of today's newspaper shows legendary paleo-anthropologist Dr. Lee Burger, shares a light moment with a replica of the skull of the newly discovered Homo naledi.
