resting his weary head

It is a cool and overcast day today, so this buck was still napping when we spotted him on our morning walk.
I thought he would jump up and run when he noticed us, but he merely lifted his head, assessed us as no threat, and put his head back down.
I was hoping he would actually close his eyes and doze off, but that did not happen.
