Turunc mosque

Just about every building in Turunc has a Turkish flag in a prominent place, as a mark of respect for the 16 conscripts and 13 police killed in terrorist attacks earlier in the week, including the mosque. It dominates the main street in the village although I have never seen anyone entering or leaving it and the call to prayers is a comforting reminder that although we are holidaying in a secular state, religion underpins the attitude of these lovely people to how they treat their fellow man or woman - kindly and with respect.
