pygmy nuthatch

Another record breaking day of heat here. My heart goes out to all the fireman working the wildfires in their full gear.
The birds are hunkering down in the shade - I saw a flicker resting in the cool grass under a tree! I was resting under the same tree when this pygmy came in and landed right over my head. I guess the heat makes us all a little dopey!
