Because it's there

After school and a burger at Byron in the Cut, we watched the world's biggest mountain on the UK's largest screen; Everest at the IMAX in Waterloo. Great film, brilliantly done but I still find it impossible to understand why climbers climb.

Grace sobbed her heart out. I remember doing the same uncontrollable sobbing after Philadelphia. I love the way she becomes so immersed in a story and moved by films.

There were more tears today, as I bizarrely found myself sobbing at work, frustrated by a colleague's ongoing ineptitude. The greatest crimes at work are not to thank and not to care. I haven't cried at work since 2007, when a young teacher shouted at me in public and then weaselly apologised privately. Comeuppance upped and came for him. I've no doubt it will come again.

A beer, a film, a gorgeous night with my family and everything's back in perspective. Happy weekend x
