Far, far away

Went for a little ride about today..stopped on this big hill to take this photo of the mountains in the distance which is also a sage brush desert before you there.  The grey area in the middle are aspens trees that are looking very bad.  We were told there is some kind of fungus attacking the trees and we have seen many area where the leaves are just grayish brown color.  Usually the whole area here is bursting with gold color by the end of September.   I don't think that will happen this year.  Some of the trees do look healthy that we passed along the road so maybe I will see some gold there.

This is looking northwesterly, about 20 miles to Wyoming northerly but west is 100 miles to Utah.  The area west of here is a big part of Dinosaur National Monument..part in Colorado and part in Utah.  We hope to visit there in the next couple of weeks.
