Chedham's Yard'

This property was once a blacksmiths workplace in Wellesbourne, Warwickshire and was in business for about 200 years through numerous generations of the Chedham family. In the sixties the then owner Billy closed his yard and locked the gate and there it stayed, invisible to the rest of the world. Fortunately for us it was in 2002 the Parish Council purchased it and renovation was started by a group of volunteers and was helped by donations from the BBC after winning an award in the Restoration TV programme. One thing that I particular interested me was that this gauge is stamped with the name Bomford and Evershed and the ATLAS WORKS was opposite where I used to live.
