Now to reveal what yesterday's image was:
The clue was in the phrase 'Alien Invasion' which referred back to a recent blip (https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2086261222126128471) of Himalayan Balsam (aka 'touch-me-not'). The posted blip is of the left-over remains of the seedpod which falls to the ground when the capsule explodes and ejects the seeds.
