St. Helens
Another stupidly early rise to start the day as Girl decided it was time to get up when clearly it wasn't. I managed to send her in the other room to be parented by Peppa Pig whilst I managed to get back to sleep. This lasted for a while until she then woke everyone else by shouting for me from the other end of our holiday abode to change the channel.
After we managed to get half awake we all trundled out and headed for the steam railway. The little ones loved the train, seeing the steam drift pass the window and watching for horses in the fields as we puffed past them. The train itself was really nice, old and classic carriages that made you feel you were on the Hogwarts Express.
In the afternoon we headed for a walk on the beach where we are staying. We tried to get to Priory Bay as we have heard nice things about it but our path was blocked by rocks. I managed to get round top take some pictures but it was not going to be possible to get the little ones there that way so we headed back to the beachside cafe for ice cream. On the way we even managed to get some family shots with the landmark of the old church in the background.
The walk from the cafe to our holiday home involves walking up a long, steep country path. We were amazed when Boy managed to walk the whole way up on his own. He would have been more pleased with himself had he not had a slip at the very top but either way we were impressed.
