What's in a name
When I walk past this part of the village I always think it looks like a sketch in the original 60s architects proposal. Where they give shops generic names.
Some of the shops are in buildings centuries old, for a place 2 miles long & 2 miles wide English Heritage list over 20 buildings, some dating back to the 17th century, but this little court was built in the mid 60s. I like it here, the butcher waves to J9 and sells superb well sourced meat, the fruit (&veg) shop sells a lot of local produce, the bakers do great bread. It's a small slice of how villages used to be and seems to be thriving.
Strange feeling though spending a few hours at my dads empty house cutting grass, trees and shrubs. It feels like a small unloved part of a well loved community.
