Dragonfly

Had a fab time today at a local park photographing dragonflies.

I know they are fairly common, but I've obviously led a very sheltered life as this is only the second time I have ever seen and more importantly heard them flying about!  Amazing!!

I can't get over the size of them and the sound they make flitting about.  Just wish I could have made them sit still for a little longer for a closeup!

I've added a few extra photos including ones of black and common darters and a blue tailed damselfly.
