Mail Memorial

I've often driven past this memorial and never actually stopped. It says:
Near the head of this burn
on the 1st Feb 1831
James McGeorge cuare?
And John Goodfellow driver
of the Dumfries to Edinburgh mail
Lost their lives in the snow
After carrying the bags thus far
Erected 1931
They don't make them like that any more!
